Our Girl Kirstie!
Rachel Ray started the week off for me. Yes, our girl Kirstie cooked some chili with RR. Then came the new show, and the case of the returning rat, a birthday party, a weight-loss competition with her “chubby buddy” Jim and a girls’ spa sort-of-vacation, kept me screaming throughout both episodes. The rat comes into the house, is caught and set free, because our girl will not kill it. The rat returns the next day and again, is set free, this time with a marked tail. Sure enough, NEXT day, same rat. Solution: set it free in Beverly Hills. Works for me! Time for Kirstie’s birthday, complete with a surprise party and the Travoltas. Lots of food, lots of cake and, try as she might, Jim always seems to lose more weight than Kirstie. Now it’s war! Stay tuned.
Snooki Update
Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City is offering a “Jersey Shore Package.” For $878 per night, you can enjoy the “Jersey Shore Experience” and follow in the footsteps of the fist-pumpers. This includes a “sweet” room (whatever that means), dinner at Il Verdi restaurant (best part of the deal), breakfast at the Seaside Café (what! no buffet!?), a gift certificate for a “Jersey Shore Do” at the Tropicana Salon (one can only imagine), plus VIP admission to Providence nightclub AND a gift basket with Italian treats. Ok, this is horrifying to the TVJ. This is why we will be taking a break from the “Snooki Update” until the next season of “Jersey Shore,” if Miami Beach survives the onslaught! $878 per night? Are they on f&#)*^g drugs?
“Lost” Report
Sun and Jin. Jin and Sun. Yet another episode (“The Package”) focusing an individual, or in this case, a couple. Their life in the side-time story seems close to their life in real-time, except that they’re not married. And if Not-Locke wants to reunite them, why not simply take Jin with him to find Sun? Oh wait, maybe he doesn’t want them together. Do I sound more confused than ever? But Richard returned, as we knew he would (looking younger than ever) and, in the final moments, Desmond turned up. And what’s with Sayid and the blank stares? It’s that time again, and now I hand you over to my pal Bill Ervolino’s “Completely Lost” site. Let him explain it all to you!

OK, Addicted!
The new 11-part series, “Life,” on the Discovery Channel is ASTOUNDING!!! This is NOT to be missed. No plot, no divas, no drama…just the drama of…“Life.” Watch it and you tell me!
Back This Week:
“Stargate Universe” – the show is back Friday, April 2nd and the geeks rule! That’s what I love about the “Stargate” franchise; the eggheads always save the day. The pretty boys look good and have lots of muscles, but it’s the geeks who figure out how to get the hunky guys out of the jams. Did I mention that the women are also beautiful and brainy? Guess I just did.
“In Plain Sight” – ok, Mary McCormack can cuff me any day in the week and relocate me to Albuquerque with no problem. This drama, starring McCormack as WITSEC Marshal Mary Shannon, is back and better than ever. Come on, we knew she wouldn’t die, or the series would have been cancelled! Her second? Lesley Ann Warren as Mary’s usually tipsy, always dysfunctional mother, Jinx.
“FlashForward” – this show is getting interesting and confusing. Just who IS responsible for the FlashForward? One thing I do know, Dominic Monaghan is one strange and scary dude as Simon Campos. He’s brilliant, evasive and probably evil to the core, but was he working on his own or “just following orders?” And will there be, as predicted, another FlashForward? I guess we’ll find out on April 29th, now won’t we?
“V” - the lizards are back! Will they succeed, or will former “Lost” babe Elizabeth Mitchell, as FBI counter-terrorism agent Erica Evans, and Father Jack Landry, former “4400” star Joel Gretsch, fight them off before they become entrées? Some of the allusions to Nazi Germany are frightening.
Soapbox Moment of the Day:
You heard it here first, all about the new HBO show “How to Make it in America,” which is now being touted as “Sex & the City” for men. There you go! Once again, the TVJ is ahead of the masses. No, no really, no thanks are necessary. Oh, maybe a little thanks. Ok, a little more thanks.
See you next week…
