TV_Junkie_FINALMemo to: The Emmy nominating committee…what are you guys thinking? “Big Bang Theory” Jim_Parsonsis the best comedy on TV and NO EMMY NOMINATION FOR BEST COMEDY??? Whatever! At least Jim Parsons got a The_Big_Bang_Theorynomination as quirky geek-of-the-century Sheldon.

More back, back, back:

“Warehouse 13” is back with a bang! As you already know, the TVJ is a sci-fi geek, obsessed with quantum physics and the space/time continuum, simply, time travel. Not that “Warehouse 13” delves into the past on a regular basis, but they did return to 1944 and oWarehouse_13ther centuries in the last episode, featuring gladiators, cowboys and the original development of the “Farnsworth,” which is a communication device invented by Philo T. Farnsworth, who, as we all know invented the…? That would be the television, kids! Without Farnsworth, the TVJ would Artie__Claudiahave no column and would simply be…well, just a junkie. Whatever. It seems that Farnsworth created a 3-D holographic device that projects images that become real. Too real! Cool, huh? Just a reminder, that one of the TVJ’s faves, the BBC’s “Being Human,” returns on Saturday, July 24th at 10pm on BBC America. It stars Russell Tovey, who was SO wonderful in last year’s multi-nominated, award-winning BBC production of Charles Dickens’ “Little Dorrit.”

More new, new, new:

“Rookie Blue” is one of the TVJ’s favorites of the new crop of drama/cop/hot babes & guys Rookie_Blueshows. Missy Peregrym, as rookie cop Andy McNally, is right up there with Mary McCormick from “In Plain Sight” in the “she can handcuff me any day” category. So far, this show, full of young Rookie__Blueenthusiastic rookie cops, seems to be doing well. Plus, they all LOOK so good! And then, just when you think Stephen King couldn’t suck you in again, along comes “Haven,” complete with all of King’s bells and whistles; there’s strange smoke, creepy fog, humongous hail-stones, torrential downpours, the idyllic Maine fishing village where “nothing is what is seems,” capped by Emily Rose (“Brothers & Sisters”) and Lucas Bryant as FBI Agent Audrey Parker and local cop Nathan Wuornos. Since the TVJ is mathematically challenged, do the math yourself. Remains to be seen how the next few episodes fare. So far, so good. Good and creepy, that is. Alas, the TVJ must confess that her favorite guilty TV pleasure, next to the SyFy channel, is BBC America. Whether it’s thumb_Emily_Rose_and_Lucas_Bryant“Dr. Who,” “Ab  Fab,” ”Torchwood” or the late, lamented “Vicar of Dibley,”  the TVJ is a sucker for those accents. Now comes two new (one oldie from 2003, now in its eighth season, new to the TVJ, and one really new) shows that have caught the TVJ’s attention. The oldie “Peep Show,” is the BAFTA Award-winning cult comedy that centers on the inner thoughts of two socially inept roommates, Mark and Jeremy, one of the most dysfunctional, codependent relationships of all time. Mitchell__Webb_Peep_ShowStarring the comedy duo of Mitchell & Webb (David Mitchell as Mark and Robert Webb as Jeremy), these two are the loser male version of Pats and Eddie, except these boys KNOW they’re not cool. If that doesn’t scare the TVJ, nothing will, and that’s why she loves this show! The newbie is “The Choir,” about a young choir master prepping British students for a competition in China. This is SO not “Glee,” not only because it’s a reality show, but because none of these kids have ever sung in public before. Stay tuned. The TVJ’s Gleekmania has been tweaked by “The Choir.” Next week: “Rizzolli & Isles,” “Covert Affairs” and another of the TVJ’s new faves, “The Real L Word.”

The TVJ’s “TV Family of the Week

It’s the West family, from the new ABC show, “Scoundrels.” This family of crooks has the Scoundrels_Kidsbest of the best: Virginia Madsen, whom the TVJ has loved since, like, forever, as mother/wife, Cheryl West; David James Elliott of “JAG” fame, playing way beyond against type as slimy, skanky, no conscience father/husband Wolf (also, way, way hot with Madsen, BTW!); ScoundrelsLeven Rambin (so good as Lily, Jackson Montgomery’s daughter with Asperger’s on “All My Children”) as slutty, dimwitted daughter Heather; Vanessa Marano (“Without A Trace,” “Dexter” and “Young and the Restless”) as brainy daughter Hope; and “The 4400” (will we ever know how THAT series ended?) star, hunky Patrick John Flueger as twin sons, the moronic Cal and over-achieving attorney Logan. When Wolf is sentenced to five years in the slammer, Cheryl wants the kids out of the family business. Good luck with this crew! LOVE THEM!!!

Re-Lost:

Love might be lovelier the second time around, but “Lost” is beyond lovely, beyond great and is so much cooler and way more awesome, the second time around. As the TVJ devours the 2009 episodes of “Lost,” she is noticing every sign, every hint, every clue that these brilliant men planted along the way; stuff I never noticed during the first run of these episodes. This is like a scavenger hunt for hidden clues and the TVJ is putting two and two together, and it’s adding up to the finale that is still on the TVJ’s DVR.

Ready to Get Addicted Again!!!

Jersey_Shore_Banned_In_MiamiGET READY!!! It’s time for JERSEY SHORE, SEASON 2.” Yes, TVJ fans, the Guidos and Guidettes are back, this time in South Beach. More on this after their July 29th 10pm premiere on MTV.

Oh, MY!!!

Trigger for sale! Oh, Dale…oh, Roy…how could this have happened? All stuffed and ready to go, TriggerTrigger went for $266,000, Jeep Nellybelle for $116,500, their dog Bullet for $35,000. Dale’s horse Buttermilk and Trigger Jr., both went for a paltry $25,000 and $18,750. In total, the entire Roy Rogers/Dale Evans estate went for $2.98 million. “Happy Trails” to all of them!

Soapbox Moment of the Day:

Lindsay_LohanAlthough technically not a TV personality, Lindsay Lohan, or as the TVJ prefers to call her fellow Long Islander, “Merrick’s shining moment,” has been all over the tube lately. What happened to this kid, who is a really talented actress? Somebody needs to help her, or she’s a goner, just like Buffy.

See you next week…
