The American Traditions Competition is celebrating 20 years of bringing the best singers from around the country to perform the best of America's music. After reviewing dozens of applications, 32 quarter finalists will be coming to Savannah to compete between January 15 and January 19, 2013.

                                           Cabaret Cares Concludes its 2012 Season with its Christmas Extravaganza on Dec 17th hosted by Tanya Holt. Cabaret Cares is the award winning series that raises funds for Help Is On The Way Today. Started in 2005, Cabaret Cares has raised over $74,000 for Help Is On The Way Today. The evening will include performances by some of the most talented performers from the New York Cabaret Community,and some young new faces as well.

                                                When Cabaret Newbies – or those who just fell of a turnip truck from Macaroni Falls, Minnesota or Boggy Depot, Oklahoma –and somehow landed in NYC --- ask me what cabaret show to see and they have way more choices than dollars, and don't know a lot of performers' work,

                                  As the old saying goes, "Seeing is believing." That may not be 100% the case in the plot of Love Song, a play at The Seeing Place Theater --- no, it's not a musical. But it IS about different forms of love, in its way. And if you are looking for committed, talented theater people who bring to life an unusual story for an affordable price (How does twelve dollars sound?), then The Seeing Place must be the place to go.

                                                     Urban Stages (Frances Hill, Founding Artistic Director), in association with producer/director/lyricist Peter Napolitano announces a series of musical evenings entitled Winter Rhythms 2012, beginning on Tuesday, December 4 and running through Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Urban Stages Theatre (259 West 30th Street).

                                                                                             Kicking off the start of his holiday concert series and celebrating the release of his CD Bring Me Giants, James Barbour brought the house down at Sardi's, NYC most famous theatrical hot spot since 1927, on Saturday, November 10, 2012. With one of the biggest and most powerful voices out there, James delighted the sold-out crowd to some of the best character songs created for Broadway by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Frank Wildhorn and Jack Murphy, amongst others. 

                                                                                   Fifty years after her death, "Norma Jean/Marilyn Monroe" is still alive, though now she is living in the body of Louisa Bradshaw who wonderfully portrays the famed icon in Siren's Heart...Norma Jean & Marilyn in Purgatory, written by Walt Stepp, who also composed the original music/lyrics, and directed by Lissa Moira. I saw this show last year when it premiered at Theater for the New City and a year later, it's still great!
