St. George's Society of New York , Arts for St. George, is proud to present Colin Bailey, Chief Curator of the Frick Collection in "Buying British," an illustrated talk about Henry Clay Frick and the creation of the Frick Collection. Colin Bailey has been Chief Curator of the Frick Collection since 2000, and is only the second holder of the position since 1935.
The Frick Collection features renowned masterpieces of Western art from the early Renaissance through the late nineteenth century. Prior to joining the Frick, Mr. Bailey was Deputy Director and Chief Curator of the National Gallery of Canada. Previous to that, he held curatorial positions at the Kimball Art Museum, The Philadelphia Museum of Art and the J. Paul Getty Museum.
Colin Bailey's talk will commence Monday, March 29, 2010, from 6pm to 8pm at The National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park South. There is a $20 cover charge, which includes hors d'oeuvres and cash bar.
