After a 5 year absence from New York, and with recently being named the Best Female Cabaret Singer 2009 in LA by Don Grigware of BroadwayWorld; the critically acclaimed actress/singer, Alexandra Billings makes her debut at Feimstein's at Loews Regency, produced in Association with long time producer, Lampkin Music Group, August 20 & 21 @ 8:30pm.
Musical Directed by Robert Ollis, the show will feature songs from her award winning cabaret show such as: "Let The River Run," "Angels, Punks and Raging Queens" and the "Alone Medley."
Alexandra has a MAC/HANSEN Award, a Jeff Award (Chicago's Tony equivalent), 5 Chicago After Dark Awards, and has the honor of being a member of the Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame. Nightclub appearances include: NY's Don't Tell Mama, 88's, Arci's Place(Cabaret on the Record), Chicago's Empire Room, Park West, Toulouse, Pops for Champagne, Davenports and LA's Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's.
Alexandra theatre credits include: Twist, The House of Yes, The Idiot with David Schwimmer, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, Gypsy, Suessical-the Musical, Hamlet:The Musical (Chicago and Off Off Broadway), Clue(Lion's Club), The World Goes'Round, Applause, Son of Fire and her autobiographical tour de force, Before I Disappear, which has been seen Off-Broadway, Chicago, Boston, Michigan and an 8-week run in LA at the Avery Schreiber Theatre, which garnered Alexandra a Best Actress Nomination by the organization ADA.
Alexandra's guest starring NBC/ABC TV/FILM roles include "Romy and Michelle-A New Beginning," "ER," "Eli Stone," "Karen Sisco," "Socket," "Nurses" with Lynn Redgrave(Pilot), "Grey's Anatomy," Stealth - a Film by Marlo Benier and 5.4 - A Love Story co-starring Jeff Perry.
Alexandra can be heard on her two recording projects Being Alive and The Story Goes On, produced by Lampkin Music Group.
